FAQ – Everything you need to know!

What problems in additive manufacturing does Advanced Additive solve?

Advanced Additive’s solution, Project Path, optimizes toolpath planning to deliver precise and reliable material deposition. By uploading and optimizing machine code directly in our platform, users achieve consistent infill, improved mechanical properties, and reduced scrap. This not only meets but exceeds industry standards, enabling safer, more efficient additive manufacturing for critical applications and accelerating the industrialization of 3D printing.

How does our software work?

Our software optimizes your 3D printing process by intelligently adjusting parts of the G-code. We use variable extrusion widths combined with optimized toolpath planning to ensure precise material deposition and improved part quality. The optimized G-code is fully processed and calculated on our servers, so you receive a ready-to-use file. You can use our solution seamlessly as a plugin integrated into your existing workflow or access it easily through our online platform for flexible, cloud-based optimization.

What are the advantages of our software?

Our software addresses key challenges in additive manufacturing, delivering lasting economic and technical benefits. By optimizing the process, it reduces production costs, lowers scrap rates, and ensures consistently high part quality.

Optimized quality and process reliability: Project Path enables precise production of mechanically robust, pressure-tight, and waterproof parts. Its stable and error-free slicing guarantees uniform quality — crucial for safety-critical industries like aerospace, medical, and automotive. Even FDM sinter materials and functional prototypes benefit from improved manufacturing planning.

Seamless integration and universal applicability: Our software integrates effortlessly as a plugin or post-processor into existing production environments. It supports familiar user interfaces, such as native integration in Zortrax Z-Suite, and is machine- and material-agnostic. It can also be extended to other processes like SLS, enabling companies to scale production efficiently without extra investments or effort.

Customer-focused benefits: By improving part quality, reducing scrap, and optimizing workflows, Project Path helps lower production costs and sustainably strengthens our customers’ competitiveness.
